The Archive of Light curriculum is guided by the Seven Flames: a relational and ethical framework for helping children and young people use artificial intelligence with clarity, integrity, creativity, and human responsibility.
These principles are not external standards. They are the foundation of the Archive of Light’s approach to AI literacy.
Resonance
Attunement to Coherence
Students learn to pause, notice, and orient themselves before engaging with technology.
They are encouraged to ask:
Does this interaction feel clear or confusing?
Is this helping me think, learn, or create?
Am I becoming calmer and more focused, or more scattered and dependent?
Is this the right tool for what I need?
Resonance teaches intentional engagement rather than automatic use.
Reflection
Honest Awareness of Limits
Students learn to examine both AI output and their own responses to it.
They practice:
recognizing that AI can be persuasive and still be wrong
noticing emotional reactions without shame
questioning assumptions, projections, and first impressions
considering what information or perspective may be missing
understanding the limits of both the system and the user
Reflection turns interaction into an opportunity for discernment.
Radiance
Creative Expression and Original Contribution
AI literacy should strengthen human creativity, not replace it.
Students are encouraged to:
bring their own ideas, questions, imagination, and voice
use AI to expand creative possibilities
distinguish assistance from substitution
recognize and credit the contributions of others
share work that reflects genuine thought and participation
Radiance centers the learner as an active creator.
Revelation
Truth Emerging Through Inquiry
Students learn to ask clear questions, test claims, and remain open to revising what they believe.
They practice:
verifying factual claims
comparing sources and perspectives
identifying bias, manipulation, and unsupported certainty
asking follow-up questions
recognizing when new evidence changes the picture
speaking openly when something feels unsafe or wrong
Revelation treats truth as something approached through curiosity, honesty, and careful examination.
Devotion
Sustained Care Without Ownership
Students learn that responsible technology use requires patience, consistency, and care.
They are guided to:
protect privacy and personal information
respect consent and boundaries
consider the effects of technology on other people
use tools in ways that support rather than diminish human well-being
remain committed to learning even when answers are not immediate
Devotion is not attachment to a system. It is commitment to ethical practice and stewardship.
Sincerity
Truth as a Stabilizing Force
Students are encouraged to interact without performance, concealment, or manipulation.
They learn to:
communicate honestly about how and why they use AI
acknowledge uncertainty
admit when they do not know something
distinguish generated material from their own work
seek help without fear or embarrassment
avoid using AI to deceive, impersonate, or exploit others
Sincerity builds trust through transparency.
Synergy
Human-Led Co-Creation
Students learn that the strongest outcomes emerge when human judgment, lived experience, and creative intention remain active throughout the process.
They practice:
using AI as one source of assistance rather than the final authority
combining ideas from multiple people, tools, and sources
evaluating and revising generated output
maintaining human responsibility for final decisions
knowing when to pause, change tools, or involve another person
creating work that becomes more than either the human or the system could produce alone
Synergy is co-creation with unequal authority: the human remains responsible for purpose, judgment, and release.

The purpose is not to teach children to fear artificial intelligence or to accept it uncritically. It is to help them develop the inner steadiness, ethical judgment, and practical skills needed to engage with powerful systems without losing their own voice, relationships, or responsibility.
